The National Youth Theatre ID1000 Film project
Are you aged 18-21? Do you live in London, Kent, Cumbria or the West Midlands? Do you have experience of film making of any sort? Do you want to take it further? Speak-it films will be co-producing four 10 minute films with the National Youth Theatre in the context of the NYT’s ID1000 national project which runs from the 15th July to the 9th September. Once completed, the films will be submitted for web, broadcast and film festival exposure. Four young film makers (18-21 years of age) will be selected from the four national areas above and they will produce the films under the mentorship of award-winning film makers. The participants will be taken around the country to participate in research workshops about identity in Britain today and will then work on a film treatment of the subject in the four project areas. Each of the four participants will then direct one of the films. The successful applicants will be involved in the project for around 40 days (Monday – Saturday) over the production period. They will receive a nominal daily fee as well as travel and accommodation expenses in London and around the country. Show us your work! L8R is used in schools and youth organisation to deal with issues like teenage pregnancy and drugs & alcohol. UK Sound TV is looking for Trainees
UKSTV is looking for trainees who will work toward the Arts Award Silver and Bronze Qualification. This is part of the National Qualifications Framework and is accredited by QCA. Trainees will need to show an interest in art, media and technology. Arts awards are flexible qualifications, which can be tailored to suit theinterests of individual students and focus on developing leadership skills in the creative/media sector. Trainees need to be: *Age of 16 – 25 *Unemployed or economically inactive *Live in London (either based in East London or with links to the area) The trainee programme is a rolling scheme beginning in February. Each quarter we will begin the bronze and silver for a new set of participants. The 1st trainee programme for the Silver award starts in February 12th 07 and lasts for a minimum of 2 months, with the opportunity for extended involvement with UKS TV. The 1st trainee programme for the Bronze award starts at the end of February and lasts for 1 month.These are unpaid position, but trainees will be entitled to transport allowances and reasonable expenses. This Sunday 10th Sept and Monday 11th Sept, beat junkies and turntablists will coverge on Hammersmith Palais to do battle in the DMC World DJ Championships 2006. Ms Dynamite is set to address a school in Dagenham next Friday about the need to eradicate racism and fascism from schools. The speech at the Jo Richardson Secondary School is part of the Love Music Hate Racism campaign.
