About Me:
My name is Achia Begum, I’m 19 years old and live in East London. I am a young adult with confidence, enthusiasm and a sparkling character, with the passion to learn and practise new skills to help develop my working capability further.
I am a dependable and devoted hard worker and believe my working ability is good of quality and fulfilment. I enjoy reading books which, I believe shows me an insight of different aspects of society and how these problems are dealt with. I am an independent person with a good approach to new things. I believe in challenging my weaknesses in order to progress them.
I enjoy analysing films, writing essays and taking part in discussions about different issues in media. This helps me to put my thoughts and opinions across and see things from different point of views as well as understanding one another as to why we see the issue differently.
I enjoy teamwork, which I think is a great way of communicating so we all can put our ideas together, and think as one. I have done a lot of this in As-level Performing Arts by taking on responsibilities such as a main character, assistant director, assistant producer, and scriptwriter. I also have a passion for acting and enjoy being in front of the camera as well as performing for an audience.
I have previously taken part in a documentary called ‘Community Counts’ which I took part in with ‘Spotlight UK Production’ which was about bridging the gap between the community and the police. We had launched, this DVD in February ’06.’
This had given me great experience in being a presenter, interacting with the public and going on a T.V show to talk about the documentary.I have also recently been in a cinema advert which I had done in March ‘06’ where I had to talk about drugs, crime and violence. This was then shown in cinemas during the trailer adverts. This gave me a fantastic opportunity to see what life was like when your doing filming, this gave me a chance to experience rehearsing lines, taking lots of shots and being in front of the camera as well as the public.
